1 Star Jammin’s OK for Music But Not For Shredders
Lousy product. Consistently jams and is impossible to clear out. Tried disassembling but is very difficult. Would not recommend.
1 Star Homer Simpson Would Buy This!
I shred a lot of paper and this shredder is just the worst. It only handles 5 pages of regular stock paper and that only works (very slowly) if you put them in at an exact right angle. If even one piece of paper gets caught at an angle the whole system freezes up and you have to reverse or rip and cut out pieces of stray paper. It’s true that staples go right through the shredder without a problem, but it’s the consistent jamming that really made me nuts. Plus, the shredder sits precariously on top of the basket, so if you don’t align it just right on top of the basket, it falls in – its heavy. Really search around for a good shredder and make sure it shreds at least ten sheets of paper at a time. That’s a lot of time on your hands and a good shredder is well worth the cost.
1 Star Avoid this one
Please don’t spend your money here. It consistently jams after only a couple of sheets. With all the time I spent trying to unjam it, I’d have been quicker to use a pair of scissors to cut the paper into strips!

4 Stars Small but good
Product was smaller than I expected but does the work of a full size shredder.
4 Stars very good
This desk top sheadder gets the job done.Just don’t insert more than 4 sheets at one time.It SAYS CROOS-CUT but it’s notit’s straight micro cut, even the photo on the box was different from the pieces of paper i had. Overall ifyou don’t havemassive amouts of paper this is the machine you and it’s easy to use. It also comes with a brush and a paper tool just incase paper gets stuck inbetween the blades
5 Stars Great light-duty shredder
I have had this for a month, and purchsed it in spite of quite a few negative reviews because I refuse to spend a fortune on a shredder when all I need it for is credit card junk mail and relatively few banking / confidential documents. It does the job perfectly well. Yes, you should only put in one folded piece of paper at a time (and yes, it has to be folded because the opening is small), but it happily chewed up 30 of these in a row when I was clearing out my desk. Since then, I have used it maybe once or twice a week. The bin is small but perfectly adequate for my needs. Very straightforward to operate. Bottom line – I have found it to be excellent for what it was made for – light home use.
5 Stars mighty midget
If you want a shredder that doesn’t take up a lot of space, this is for you–assuming you don’t have mountains of paper to shred. The machine is easy to use for checks, but 8 1/2″ x 11″ documents have to be folded or torn to fit the narrow (about 4 1/2″) feed slot. You can only do 4 layers at a time.
We have had no problem with the machine stalling. The design is simple and attractive, so that it’s especially suitable for a home or home office. It’s also not too noisy or too heavy.
5 Stars Desktop Shredder
This little shredder is great! It is very compact, has a ample size basket and does a superb job. It’s definitely for the private home or office but I have been extremely pleased. And for the modest price, I don’t think you could do better. I would highly recommend it.!

1 Star It’s a Piece of Junk
I bought this shredder less than a year ago. When brand new the darn thing jammed about ten percent of the time. After several months it ran slower and jammed more often… now it won’t shred a single piece of paper. After a thorough dissection, I learned that the tiny electric motor was not built to last very long.
4 Stars Great shredder
This GBC shredder shreds documents quickly and well. I’ve had it for many months and it’s been super reliable, shredding up to twenty or more 5-sheet passes without a break. I’ve shredded around 400 or 500 sheets total, and it hasn’t yet had a single problem. The only downside is that the wastebasket fills up fairly quickly, so check it often.
2 Stars lasted less than 2 years
For about a year and a half, it worked great. Then occasionally it would slow down a bit. Last week it really started slowing down and groaning. I discovered where shredded paper had jammed up into the cutters and was splitting out the side of the shredder! I tried to take it apart and remove the jam (and my warranty if it lasted that long) and the plastic comb under the cutters just crumbled apart! Well, I still have a pretty nice waste basket….
2 Stars Didn’t last that long
I agree with some of the reviews that have already been written about this shredder. For a while it worked pretty well then it slowed down. Then I found a huge wad of half-shredded paper in the feeder that I couldn’t get out and which started to split the shredder.
5 Stars Great shredder
I just received my shredder yesterday and got right to my 2 inch thick stack of confidential documents. The shredder was well packaged, went together simply and easily, and went right to work. It is one of the quieter shredders I have used and it cuts the paper horizontally as well as vertically so you end up with very small pieces indeed. The basket does fill up quickly but the top is easy to remove with the handy grips on each side. Although I haven’t been using this shredder for a very long time yet what I have seen I am very happy with.
How To Find The Best Paper Shredder
Finding the Right Paper Shredder For Your Needs
For home or small business uses, most people don’t really take the time to research paper shredders. They basically select a model based on price and size. While this approach may work some of the time, those shoppers rarely get the best shredder for their needs. Speaking of needs, those will vary greatly depending on the business and individual. Business owners will need to select a shredder that has the capability to handle their shredding volume, as well as a decent security level. Shredders for personal use will be lower volume shredders, but they will need to have some security level as well.
Security level is defined as a cutting format and size of the cutting output. Modern day shredders cut paper into thin strips or they “crosscut” and turn the paper into small diamond shaped squares that are also called confetti. The smaller the cut size is, the more secure the shredder is considered. For example, most strip shredders cut the paper into 1/4″ or 1/8″ inch strips. This is generally considered a security level 2 or 3. Crosscut shredders vary in cut size and can cut so small that the paper is basically reduced to super small particles. A crosscut shredder of that level would be considered a security level 5. The most secure security level is a 6 and this is a U.S. government or DOD level shredding device. A level 6 security shredder will basically shred paper to a pile of dust. More »
