I love this shredder. It’s well built. You can move it easily because it has rollers. It’s quiet. I am a very satisfied customer.
4 Stars Good shredder, safety feature not so good
I have been pleased with the performance of the shredder so far. We are able to shred about six pieces at a time and it will run for about 10 minutes before it has to cool down. I was disappointed though when I realized the auto shut off that is supposed to occur when a finger touches the area around the opening does not respond to little fingers. It appears that toddler sized fingers do not register. I am going to contact the company to find out if this is a known malfunction.
4 Stars Very Good for that price
I was looking for a quiet, robust shredder that can shred documents into very small pieces (so that you cannot identify any numbers). After browsing and realizing that you can easily spend $500 to $1,000 I decided to go with this model and I wasn’t disappointed.
It’s quiet, robust and handles medium volumes in our small office. The quality is sound and it produces tiny pieces of confetti that are absolutely secure.
5 Stars unbelievable!
Had purched a number of cheaper machines through the years. Mainly because they were cheap and worked. Then got sick of buying new ones all the time and decided to invest a little more for a quality machine. I swear this thing could eat nails!….It’s so quiet and powerful that you will be amazed too. And shreds to tiny pieces..no strips….GREAT ITEM! The paper slot will chew up a cedit card and it has a separate slot for CD’s…..also a sefety feature built in, so if little hands get too close it will automatically shut down….Nice, especially if you have liitle kids.
5 Stars Quiet and secure
This paper shredder cuts paper into shreds 1/4″ long and 1/16″ wide. That means a piece of 8 1/2″ x 11″ paper turns into 5,984 micro cut shreds.
Suffice it to say, your document will not be reassembled.
When the machine is shredding paper, it is very quiet. Someone asleep in an adjacent room would not be disturbed.
When shredding CD’s and credit cards, the machine cuts strips and is slightly louder than when cutting paper.
There is a built in safety feature that shuts the machine off if your hand gets too close to the blade opening while the machine is running. Also, there is a reverse button to help clear jams.
The bags that come with it are far too large for the bin. I choose not to use a bag and just empty it into a larger trash can when it is full. It also come with a bottle of shredder oil.
The power cord is 5 feet long.
Overall, I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

3 Stars Aurora AS1040C shreds well, but overheats
I wanted a microshredder for disposing of a lot of personal documents following my mother’s death. The Aurora AS1040C does an excellent job of microshredding. However,I was disappointed to find that it consistently stops working due to overheating after 10 to 15 minutes of continuous use. Once it overheats it takes awhile to cool off to the point where it will work again. By contrast, I own an inexpensive strip cut shredder that works virtually nonstop for hours. The Aurora AS104C also lacks credit card or CD/DVD shredding capability, but I like being able to roll it easily. If you are looking for a relatively inexpensive microshredder that you don’t expect to consistently keep in use for more than 5 or 10 minutes at a time, then you’ll probably be happy with the Aurora AS104C.
5 Stars Best Shredder - Nothing I have found can touch this for the money!
This is a REAL confetti shredder. The pieces are very fine and much smaller than other brands that claim to be confetti shredders. (Compare the shred sizes!)
Anything else I have found with such small shreds has been much more than twice the price. Smaller shreds mean more security and less time between emptying the basket, because the shreds take up less room per page.
Works very quickly and efficiently, and I have not found this to be much louder than other comparable shredders.
I have used 13 gallon bags to catch the shreds in the basket. This makes cleaning out the shreds much easier and neater.
The plastic on the unit base is a little thin and I have had a few small cosmetic cracks, but this has not affected performance so far and the unit has held up well.
A great unit.
3 Stars LOUD!!!!
Works great. Shredding into “Confetti shreds” are much better than the “strip shreds” because you can fit alot more of it into bags. The large receptacle is nice: no need to empty as often. Unfortunately this shredder is SUPER LOUD which is annoying for a small office like mine. That knocks it down from 5 to 3 stars.

3 Stars Shreds Great While It Worked.
I bought this on sale from Target. It cuts though paper fast and easy with or w/o stapes. Did a good job on credit cards too. Then after a year it started jamming and then stopped working. It would get 4 stars if it lasted longer.
I didn’t think of it was such a big deal when I was buying this shredder but when I started to use it I found a big convenience in the rolling casters. You can move it around for your comfort when going though the paper you want shredded. If it worked longer maybe it would get 5 stars instead 4 just for the rolling casters.
A negative is the basket which jams and gets the shredding on the floor. (But that seems to be a problem with a lot of the shredders.)
1 Star Has defective sensor
Shredder itself works fine, but the sensor that shuts off the shredder fails quickly in this device. In my case, it starts automatically, but never shuts off until I turn off the switch manually. For others, it never starts when the sensor fails. A “Royal” pain!
4 Stars Works for me
I have owned this shredder for over a year and works fine. Shreds credit cards as well as multiple sheets. I don’t run it over 2-3 mins when I use it and let it rest at least 5 mins between uses.
The auto shutoff quit working after 6 mos, but that is not a problem for me as I just turn it off when I am finished.
Good shredder for the price.
5 Stars Royal 85x Shredder
I have had several paper shredders in the past, but this one is the greatest. I just wish that I bought the next size up. I lost my Mom this summer and she saved everything so I had a lot of her paper receipts, etc to get rid of and most of them had staples. This little thing just zipped thru all of them. I just love it. Would recomend it to anyone.

This shredder is perfect for what I use it for, and gets the job done. Hard to jam. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because I feel that it could use the next size larger rollers. All in all, a good value for the price.
