1 Star Powerless Shreddrer
I ordered this shreddrer sometime last month and just pulled it out today to use – I was so excited. According to Consumer Reports this is one of the Top 3 Shreddrers. I put 1-2 pieces of paper to shred and it jams. I have spent about an hour trying to remove the jammed paper which it seems most of it is gone, but it still won’t shred. Thank God I have another shredder that I’ve had for years which wasn’t even listed by Consumers Reports – sometimes you have to go with the no name brands. I do not reccommend this product!!

This product is a sham.
Mine broke, as in destroyed, on 4th use. I simply fed it too many sheets. I would think that would jam it, not destroy it. the plastic drive gears shredded instead of the paper.
3 Stars Confetti, not a real party!
This shredder is not a real bang for your buck but it will do the job. After a couple of sheets it does seem to labor sometimes. When maintenance is performed it does well for a while. I did try to shred a credit card through this shredder and it made me think that I was breaking the unit. I had to back it out and that was the last time I’ll do that. Overall, it will get he job done for your regular bills and top secret papers but I wouldn’t go any further than that.

This is a very weak product. It jammes easily, I would not reccommend it.
1 Star Don’t waste your Money.
I’m looking for a new shedder and I have to vent about this one. I got mine at office depot and lost receipt. When cleaning it, sheds land up everywhere. You can’t see how full it is and it is possible for the shreds to feed back up into the shedder. It is supposed to take a credit card and jammed up. It died. Waste of money.

4 Stars Nice shredder
This shredder works well. Wish I could put paper into the basket without shredding. The mechansim fills the basket top so that you cannot easily put any other sheets, that is other than shredded sheets into the container.

The Aurora AS890C 8 Sheet Crosscut Paper/Credit Card Shredder with Basket works well. I had an Aurora shredder before, then tried a couple of other brands and I will definitely use Aurora from now on. Until it arrived, I couldn’t really tell how this model compared to the model I liked so much (that died a while ago and I didn’t write down the model number), and it is not as durable. I seem to be hard on shredders, and this is holding up, so for the price and the satisfaction with the brand, I think it will be a reliable shredder for me for a while.

Have had this for a few months now and it’s been very good. It shreds reasonably quickly, can do some mail without having to open it (though sometimes those stupid credit card offers can come in a rather thick envelope – don’t try that without opening it). Easy to empty and the auto mode works well. I haven’t hit the thermal cutoff yet. The pieces are fairly small. Probably not the best security out there but seems good enough. Better than a strip shredder for sure. Overall a very good buy in my opinion.
