This shredder utilizes a medium-duty crosscut cutting type to ensure that your private data is completely destroyed. And with a 12-sheet shred capacity that shreds at a speed of 7.2-feet per minute, your private information will be destroyed quickly and efficiently.

The Aurora C1210 paper shredder offers:
  • 12-sheet shredding power (20-pound paper) at a rate of 7.2-feet per minute.
  • Ability to shred staples, paper clips, and individual credit cards and CDs.

Collapsible Basket for Easy Storage
The faster you shred your personal and professional information, the happier you will be. When you’re ready to shred, setting up the C1210 is a breeze. All you have to do is lift up the basket frame, push the posts into position, attach the shredder to the basket, and you’re ready to dispose of your private information.

Plenty of Features and Ample Shredding Power
The C1210 features stylish, glossy finish that compliments any desk or office space, and the slide-out, 4.28-gallon mesh wastebasket easily stores 280 sheets of shredded material. Feed up to 12 20-pound sheets at a time (single CDs or credit cards), and don’t worry about removing paper clips or staplers — the C1210 is powerful enough to tear right through them, too. And if you become overzealous and feed too much into your shredder, don’t fret–the C1210 has a manual reverse feature that clears the paper jams in a snap.

Aurora has designed the C1210 with overload and thermal protection so you don’t destroy the shredder’s mechanisms. The auto-start feature fires up the shredder as soon as you insert a sheet, and the simple LED on top of the C1210 indicates power, basket full, and overload. And for added safety, the shredder features an angled paper slot so you’ll never nick a finger.

4 Stars Shreds nicely - small opening
This shredder shreds very nicely, and the basket is easy to pull out and dump (it would be difficult to put a bag in it, as it slides into a slot). Assembly was easy, and it doesn’t look half bad next to my dresser (I was afraid it would look cheap, but is pretty fair). It is nice and small, so not as obvious as my older slightly wider model (which didn’t really seem to hold more paper). My minor complaint is the small, not so wide, not so deep, opening. You have to direct the papers into it carefully, however, that being said, it keeps you from jamming it - so that may not truly be a negative. Overall I am pleased with this product.

5 Stars A decent shredder
On the night the shredder was delivered, it took me no more than 5 mins to unpack box and set it up. I like the collapsible bin design, and it indeed greatly reduces consumption of non-recyclable plastic. I shredded about 5 years bank and credit card statements, and they filled about two 13 gallons garbage bag, fully compacted by my foot. The motor case even didn’t get warm afterwards. I only tried about 6 pages at a time because I believe that will help motor from being overtaxed and should keep it running longer time. I did lubricate the shredder after every 5 full bins by several pages drenched with peanut oil. The curved feeding slot design is much simple and elegant, and does not require any “high” tech proximity gadget found in some Fellowes models. The overall noise is much lower than a Fellowes in my office previously. Regardless how fancy it is, a shredder is a shredder. As long as its noise level, capacity and duty cycle meet your needs, it’s a good shredder.

4 Stars Good little shredder
Aside from the over-the-top “we’re greener than thou” packaging (a serious case of greenwashing), this is a good, solid shredder. It chops stuff up good, OK? ;o) That’s what this kind of shredder (vs. the Buckethead kind of shredder) is supposed to do - whether it has a long life is anybody’s guess (I’ve gone through a couple others already over the years). It was very easy to put together, and the bin is made out of fabric, so it packages up quite a bit smaller than it otherwise might (thus the claim of “green” - yeesh). Yes it would be nice if it were a “diamond cut” that chopped everything up in to itty-bitty pieces but it says “crosscut”, OK? That’s what it is! And that’s why it’s less expensive than the others. It was a great deal on gold box when I bought it - less so now.

5 Stars Great for home office or casual use - maybe okay for small biz
I have a home office and wanted a decent shredder - this fit the bill perfectly. Makes easy work of receipts, old credit cards or other information you don’t want to leave out by the street. Relatively quiet, simple to set up, works well and shreds to a level that puts the mind at ease. Uses a cross cut pattern that would make remains unpalatable for all but the absolutely most determined.

5 Stars Study, high quality and a steel for under $69.00!!!
Excellent high quality product that we have used relentlessly since receiving. How quickly papar receipts build up. Thank goodness we have shredders that can handle the loads without blowing a fuse or getting permanently jammed.

5 Stars Great Buy!
I bought several shredders under the price of $100 and non last longer than a year with below average use. This is so far the most satisfying shredder I bought and hope it will last. All the features are working as it advertised, especially the credit card shredding.

5 Stars shredder
I have had two other shredders that ended up breaking after only a year. Fellowes is an excellent company. This shredder is heavy duty with a great warranty. I saved $50 by using Amazon compared to my local Office Depot and had free shipping!

5 Stars Monster Shredder
I purchased this shredder. Ordered it Tuesday afternoon, got free super saver shipping and received it Friday afternoon. Unbelievable. Amazon really knows how to ship.

There are a lot of reviews already but I thought I could add a few things.

A reviewer commented about the mess in the shred bin. Yeah, but it is only a minor problem. All my past shredders were worse. I shredded some CDs and DVDs and they make a mess because of the paint on the non-writable side. If you jar the bin slightly and push the pile down with your hand before pulling the bin out the rest of the way, you can minimize the mess. But with CDs and DVDs, some of the stuff is so light it blows around.

Someone commented about the on/off switches. There are two. A master rocker switch in back that I would guess you always leave on. The switch on top you might turn on and off. If you leave the unit on (both switches) all the time, the blue light will run and use a little power. If you really want to be green, I guess you could turn it off.

I want to stress what some other reviewers said about this monster. This is by far the best shredder (and most expensive) I’ve owned. I owned about three el cheapos before. They all burned out. I use this at home and I’m a nut about shredding anything with any personal information on it. So I might use it more than the average household and I can’t imagine ever stressing this beast. But I did give it a shot (below). For day-to-day shredding, this thing wouldn’t break a sweat. It is almost overkill but I could see this unit lasting years.

While vacuuming out the unit after shredding the DVDs, I looked at the business end of the shredder. There is a spindle of nasty looking, sharp metal teeth between plastic guides.

The power cord is bent at 90 degrees so the unit will sit closer to the wall. Nice touch that a lot of other manufacturers should do.

I had a pile of paper to shred since my last shredder burned out. It sawed through that pile in a few minutes. My old shredder would have loudly churned through the pile in about two hours. I always dreaded shredding before. Now, I’m looking for things to shred. The other thing is, this unit is very quiet. It produces a low hum as opposed to the much higher pitched whine of cheap shredders that beg for mercy if you give them a couple of sheets at a time.

The teeth are metal so follow the instructions and oil them. Nuff said.

Now for the main selling point. I had about 250 CDs and DVDs (old computer backups). You don’t want to just toss your personal data in the trash - you have to shred that stuff. Most reviews of most shredders never mention shredding DVDs which seem a little tougher to me. This unit had no problem with the CDs or DVDs. I shredded them in groups of ten. I oiled the teeth a couple of times during the process. Awesome!

I used the guide for the credit cards, CDs and DVDs. I think there are probably tougher teeth in the middle and the guide makes sure the plastics go through in the right path.

The auto shutoff works as advertised. The teeth are so far down that I can’t see a baby’s finger getting in there. There’s no way an adult’s finger could get in. Maybe Gene Simmon’s tongue (Kiss) could get in the slot. :-)

Look no further. Buy this shredder.

4 Stars It’s a shredder
It does what it’s supposed to do, but when you take the bin out to empty it there are pieces of paper all over the inside. Also you have a renewable bag you have to purhase for the inside an additional expense. Also my box wasn’t complete a part was missing but Fellows shipped it and received it a week later.

5 Stars Customer Service is Top-Notch
I bought this shredder based upon previous customer reviews. For home office use, it serves me well. Great product, and at a great price. I am really taking time to write this review, to re-iterate what other customers have said about Fellowes’ customer service. According to the directions, there is a document holder that attaches to the back of this shredder. My doc holder wasn’t included in the packaging. Not really a big deal, but I sent them an email anyway. I got a response within 2 hours! Seems the manual was out of date, and the document holder isn’t included with this model anymore. They apologized, and said they were mailing me one anyway, and gave me a tracking number. Received the doc holder 5 days later. It’s rare to find customer service like that nowadays! I would have been happy with just the e-mail response with an explanation.

Fellowes Paper Shredder 8 Sheet with Confetti Cut

Fellowes Paper Shredder 8 Sheet with Confetti Cut

Tough FELLOWES POWERSHRED paper shredder engineered for small business office or home use. A persons identity is stolen every six seconds in the U.S. The news media continues to warn . . . protect against increasing identity theft . . . “the fastest growing white color crime in America” (Federal Trade Commission, March 29, 2002 press release). High security confetti cut (5/32″ x 1 3/8″) renders documents and credit cards unreadable. Shreds up to 8 sheets at a time including staples and small paper clips. Convenient pull out bin.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Decent Home Shredder
While I can’t confirm the model number, the photo on Amazon looks identical to my Fellowes DM8C crosscut shredder. I paid about $[...] for mine at Costco over 1 year ago, I’ve been using it regularly. I treat it well (no overfeeding)and keep the cutters clear of accumulated waste in the bin.

So far so good. No significant problems to speak of and the unit works as advertised with paper and credit cards. My only complaint is that the crosscut could be shorter. It has a decent sized waste bin, but the longish pieces stack up in the bin quickly. I smash the bits down by hand to keep the mound out of the cutter blades, but shorter confetti pieces would not pile up so quickly. If I ever buy another one I’ll probably get one that makes smaller pieces and eats cd’s as well.

Fellowes 34050 Shredstik Shredder Dove Gray

Fellowes 34050 Shredstik Shredder Dove Gray

Want to keep information secure, even after it’s left your home or office? A personal shredder may be just the assistant you’re looking for, and the Shredstik is a sturdy little trooper. The all-steel blades are tough enough to handle the occasional staple or small paper clip, while the three-sheet capacity makes fast work of overflowing files.

The Shredstik balances well on a variety of small to medium wastebaskets, and it is just heavy enough that it’s sure to stay in place. A slim design–just 3 inches wide–makes it easy to store in a desk drawer when not in use. The one drawback is the noise level–while not overpowering, the heavy-duty blades send up enough sound to interrupt any nearby conversation.

The included adapter has a long cord that easily stretches across a standard cubicle or office so you can shred wherever is most convenient. The impressive five-year warranty covers the cutting mechanism only, but the solidly built plastic cover can withstand more than its share of abuse. A last caution for home-office users: the entrance to the cutting cylinders is perfectly sized for tiny fingers, so make sure your kids get a lesson in shedder safety. –Jill Lightner

Pros:

  • Shreds quickly
  • Goes right through staples–no flying metal shards or document jams
  • Superlong adapter cord

Cons:

  • Loud
  • Potential safety hazard for unattended kids

4 Stars Good Quality BUT Loud
Its a good shredder for the price, only bad thing is that it’s very loud when in operation…

4 Stars Fellowes 34050 Shredstik Shredder
This shredder is as advertized by Amazon.com. It came well protected in its shipping box and was easy to set up on an existing waste basket by adjusting the sliding member. Shredding of documents takes place effortlessly and the noise level is reasonable. Good product for the money.

User Ratings and Reviews

3 Stars Cheap but usable typewriter…
This is a cheap manual typewriter as the previous reviewer noted. The one I had 20 years ago of a similar design was much better than this, but there was competition back then for quality manual typewriters. If you want to bang out a rough draft in the middle of the woods (or on the balcony) without running a cord, this is better than nothing. You should get an electronic typewriter or a computer for anything else.

1 Star Not like the olivetti/royal machines made years ago.
This is a cheap, poor excuse for a typewriter, manual or not. Not like the machines made years ago. Made of plastic and cheap metal, letters not aligned, skips, etc. Don’t waste your money.

5 Stars This made a great gift!
I didn’t even know they still made manual typewriters when my grandfather told me he wanted one, but when I found this one on Amazon I was very happy. It is solid, sturdy and sold for a good price. My grandfather is happy, too.

1 Star This is a typewriter in name only.
Item arrived with several parts not connected. I was able to fix the shift for capital letters, but still do no have the margin release working. In addition, the the typewriter often skips spaces within words. I wanted a typewriter that was not dependant upon the power grid, but I can’t recommend this machine to anyone.

1 Star Don’t do it
The unit right out of the box could not be used. The alignment of lower case letters was completely off. The unit is very CHEAPLY made in China. The action is beyond terrible. No one that can actually type could use this even if it was able to print correctly!!!! This went back the same day it arrived.
